Stephanie Aviles @MsMarieMassacre Props to @TheNervousCook for the @BARISTAMAGAZINE article on troubleshooting latte art pours. Explaining these things w words is tough stuff. FROM THE MAILBOX I'm bursting with excitement about this article about latte art in the new issue [June+July 2013] of Barista Magazine! I feel like I have been waiting for my entire coffee career for an article like this. I cannot tell you what a difference this will make for me and my staff as we practice our latte art. The whole story is terrific—the article got me motivated, and the tips and pictures were really easy to follow and practice with. I actually laminated the pages of this article so my baristas can use it for years to come! Tricia Patal Denver, Colorado Thank you for publishing this article called "Latte Art Lessons from the Pros" [June+July 2013]. It is so wonderful. I am a barista trainer for a wholesale roasting company, and I work with baristas from all over. Sometimes I have to train 10 or more baristas at the same time, which can be problematic. But now I give them the article to look over before we get on the machine. It has made my trainings much more effective and productive. Thank you, Barista Magazine! John Halperin Ottowa, Ontario; Canada Who doesn't love Reg Barber? This guy has been supporting the coffee community for so long—it is really nice that you had an article about him. He deserves it! Where would the coffee industry be without Reg Barber? Oakley Carmel Churchill, Manitoba; Canada Tracy Allen's recent column about start-up financing was a good one. I wish I had it when I opened my café! But I can say that, having gone through the pain and suffering of dealing with money raising for my company, Mr. Allen's arguments and advice are dead on. I will pass this on to the friends I have who are interested in opening their own café.
