2 Michael Park loves: The ACME Union Mug Available at www.acmecups.com Barista, Robert Harris Coffee, and photographer, New Zealand Specialty Coffee Association; Auckland, New Zealand I really love this Union mug! Not only does it have a beautiful retro design, but it's also perfect for AeroPress. When I found this cup, I bought it because it looked like it would be so perfect for AeroPress—and I was right! It has the ideal shape and size for AeroPress. (I'll be honest though—I sometimes use it for V60, too.) Before I got this mug, I used to press coffee into a milk pitcher, but this mug is so wide and thick that it can support an AeroPress easily when I push it down for extracting coffee. I enjoy my coffee with this mug everyday, and I especially like how it feels when my lips meet the thick, round part of the mug for a sip. 3 Hannah Ulbrich loves: The copper cocktail shaker Available at www.crateandbarrel.com Owner, Copper Door Coffee Roasters; Denver Simple and classic, this copper cocktail shaker from Crate & Barrel is a great addition to any bar— espresso or otherwise. Having the right tools to mix up mochas or add organic syrups to holiday lattes is essential in any bustling coffee shop. Having a cocktail shaker ensures thorough blending of flavors, and lets you have fun doing it. 4 Edit Juhász loves: The Teflon pitcher and latte art stick Available at parts distributors Third place, 2014 World Latte Art Championship; barista; Budapest, Hungary I had the pleasure of trying and working with lots of pitchers in the last three years, however the one that I am really happy with is the Teflon pitcher. I have been working with this pitcher for almost a year, and I use it in competitions and at shows, as well, because it is perfect for pouring simple as well as more complex patterns. Naturally, I use it in combination with a latte art stick—that is essential to me. I love drawing, figuring out different patterns to please people, and putting a smile on their faces with my work every day. It is such a great feeling! To see it used by baristas more and more is really cool! 5 Cabell Tice loves: Comandante C40 Available at www.comandantegrinder.com Freelance barista; Astoria, Ore. When you travel a lot, it's hard to bring bigger electric grinders to have a fresh cup on the road. Solution: Comandante C40. I own a few different hand grinders, but this one is twice as fast as the others and gives me a super consistent particle size. Also #campcoffee is best done with a hand grinder, and this is my grinder of choice. 6 Hisako Yoshikawa loves: The Alessi milk jug Available at www.alessi.com 2013 World Latte Art Champion; barista, Ogawa Coffee; Kyoto, Japan The Alessi milk jug has a longer spout so I can draw thin lines with my milk without having to rotate the jug. Also, the shape and size fits my hand so it's easy to control. This pitcher enables me to draw my signature rose pattern of latte art. 65 www.baristamagazine.com
