LOVES: HER TALL ZEBRA TAMPER FROM REG BARBER Director of training, head of quality control Square One Coffee; Lancaster, Pa. I love this product because it's well made. I've had many other brands fall apart quickly after using them on busy bars, but I can always rely on a tamper from Reg Barber. The zebra wood is also incredibly beautiful! I chose the stainless-steel base with the C-Flat shape, and I've been happy with it. I also had mine engraved. The world is your oyster! Where to buy it: www.coffeetamper.com 2. J. P LOVES: HIS IRON Sales & Development Counter Culture Coffee; New York & Atlanta Big George Brannen always said if you look good, you'll do good, and I need all the head start I can get. I'm pretty sure most of the opportunities that've fallen my way were because I looked less bad than the next person. I can't stress how important an iron is to my bar flow. I feel great when my clothes look great, and I'm 90-percent sure I got most of my opportunities simply by faking being more professional than other people with similar skill sets. I know I'll make you better coffee than the next person, but I want to look better doing it, too. Where to buy one: Just about any home goods or department store ti LOVES: BLUE PAINTER'S TAPE Barista & roaster Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters; Sacramento, Calif. Blue painter's tape is great because it doesn't leave a sticky residue on anything when it is removed. We use it for almost everything, from coffee bins for drip and pourover bar, labeling shelves in the store room, taping notes to the fridge, labeling kegs of iced and nitro coffee, to funny notes and reminders for the next barista. It is great for labeling the bottom of the cups and the table while doing blind cuppings. If we need anything labeled, it is blue tape only. We even use it to tape together the ever-breaking scales And it doesn't fall off of surfaces easily like Post-it (TM) notes do! Where to buy it: Any hardware store ta LOVES: HIS MACBOOK AIR Founder, Roast Ratings; Kansas City, Mo. 2013 World Barista Champion I love my MacBook Air because it is super portable yet powerful. I can make presentations, update my website, write emails, and be fully functional on the go. Where to buy one: www.apple.com BEST BAR TOOLS 2015 61 www.baristamagazine.com
