Now the Auto Brew Ratio scales are incorporated into the espresso machine's electronics system and provide the barista a new level of consistency by giving control over beverage mass. The Auto Brew Ratio allows the barista to eliminate the step of weighing and correcting each coffee dose, while still consistently achieving the desired brew ratio. Using ratio mode, the preferred brew ratio is programmed into the machine. So when the barista places the loaded portafilter on the drip tray scale, the machine weighs the ground coffee. The barista then engages the portafilter and activates the brewing cycle.
