We saw the benefit to build a similar platform for coffee roasters. The competition is in its early stages but much like with the other competitions, we hope to see it continue to develop and evolve into a guide for showcasing important aspects in the craft of coffee roasting, as well as a venue for networking more in the global specialty coffee industry. The competition is broken into three regions—Western, Central and Eastern—that will compete once per year. The Western region was judged at Coffee Fest Seattle; the Eastern Region will be judged at Coffee Fest New York (March 8–10, 2013); and the Central region will be judged at Coffee Fest Chicago (June 7–9, 2013). How many competitors? 32 maximum. Mission: America's Best Espresso Competition is the vehicle that will determine and acknowledge the three best coffee roasters in North America. Rules: America's Best Espresso Competition is a head-to-head, bracket- style competition in which competitors will showcase their espresso.
