Brian Jones Founder Dear Coffee I Love You Gothenborg, Sweden Brian loves: notNeutral's Lino Cup (www.notneutral.com/index.php/dine.html?cat=12) Until the notNeutral Lino came along, all of the mugs or cups that I owned fit awkwardly in my hand for one reason or another. After taking all the care in the world to brew a great cup of coffee, the last subtle detail regarding the vessel I drank from always seemed unresolved. The ergonomics and balance of the Lino make it great for holding in a variety of ways, and I've been told the interior shape is honed to improve milk pouring (though it hasn't helped mine). This cup has become an icon in specialty-coffee bars around the world after first being introduced by Intelligentsia, who collaborated on its design, two years ago. Whether I'm enjoying a cappuccino or filter coffee, the Lino offers a great solution for that last elegant detail I had been looking for in a cup. Torfi Þór Torfason Co-owner, Svartiskóli Reykjavík, Iceland Torfi loves: Flow restrictor/water inlet filter screen (www.espressoparts.com/W_378) I love using a flow restrictor with my [Hario] Buono kettle! It slows down the flow rate of the water when you pour from your kettle, making it easier to control. The water doesn't come gushing out of the kettle, but if you do want more water running through, it's easy to remove the flow restrictor and then plug it back in the kettle when you want to use it again. This little thing can help your work at the bar by giving you a consistent pour, making the kettle more forgiving if you get distracted at the brew bar. Once you've gone through all the work needed to dial in your filter brew, you want consistency in the results, right? 60 barista magazine
