There are common threads through every Barista League event—the marketing is stylish and memorable; the prizes always awesome; the sponsors consistently top-notch; and of course, the competition effi cient, entertaining, and fair. Each event, however, is unique based on location and attendees, which is one of the things Steve loves best about The Barista League. There's always something new and different about a TBL event, and Steve strives to offer entertainment along with competition. Pacifi c Barista Series came on board to sponsor the TBL U.S.A. Tour, providing plenty of plant-based beverages for teams in every city to use in a latte art speed round, as well as yummy treats like hazelnut chocolate "milk" for attendees. Angie Thompson of Team Wild Peaberries concentrates on her steaming technique during the Barista League's Greenville, S.C., event. She and teammate Alex Medina placed fourth overall. Greenville boasted perhaps the biggest and—by the end of the night—wildest crowd of the whole TBL U.S.A. Tour. Host Ally Coffee offered a terrifi c space for the event, with stadium seating where attendees could watch the action unfold on the giant espresso bar. 27
