P U L L : E V E N T S Clockwise from top left: After a six-hour drive from the São Paolo airport, Gerra Harrigan of InterAmerican Coffee in Providence, R.I., is happy to hop out of the car for a photo at the gates to Fazenda da Lagoa. The international jury poses for a photo in Tiradentes. More than 100 producers and their families spent the day at Fazenda da Lagoa for the 5th Força Café Coffee Championship, where prizes were awarded for the top-scoring coffees (which will be available at auction in December). Here, winner Rosangela Moura Alves happily wears the baseball hat sent along with Gerra to Brazil by Rik Kleinfeldt, the owner of New Harvest Coffee Roasters in Providence, R.I. Gerra was excited to present the hat as well as a bag of Rosangela's own coffee roasted by New Harvest, to the producer on Rik's behalf. After the awards ceremony, the judges spent time with the producers explaining their scores. We spent countless hours at this table discussing the many beautiful coffees cupped for the 5th Força Café Coffee Championship—it was a lot tidier on day one! 52 barista magazine
