Clockwise from top left: Cold Brew City Fest boasted a host of vendors showcasing technology and equipment specifi cally used for cold-brew coffee. Among them, Wilbur Curtis displayed its Cold Brew Infuser and Granita Machine collaborating with Cafe Moto and sampling delicious drinks. Attendees judged in the cold-brew competitions as well, and enjoyed the far-reaching competitors, who hailed not just from San Diego, but also from Los Angeles, Inland Empire, Riverside, Tijuana, Long Beach, and even Vermont. The diversity of vendors—which included local coffee roasters, bakers, artists, chocolatiers, kombucha makers, equipment manufacturers, bloggers, and makers of all kinds—brought together a great mix of attendees. Art vendors included baristas like Mary Jhun, who works at Cafe Virtuoso. Her art can be seen in murals around the city. The Design category invited competitors to showcase their creativity in branding, design, and display of a cold-brew product. The winner of this category, selected by attendee vote, was Modern Times and its Sun Machine cold-brew can. 35 www.baristamagazine.com
