Smayah says the best part of her job is taking tour groups to see the coff ee-producing co-ops, where the vast majority of members are women. Through her visits she says, "I learned the treasure of giving back to my society and giving back to the farmers." Smayah explains the steps involved in coff ee processing to her students at Question Coff ee. Rwanda is primarily a tea-drinking nation, so most are unfamiliar with coff ee. Rwanda-based specialty roaster Question Coff ee is determined to change that. "The proceeds at Question Coff ee stay in the country and promote and support the people who grow it," Smayah says.
