65 www.baristamagazine.com 10 JENNY LOVES: HER BARATZA FORTE GRINDERS Owner, Slingshot Coffee Co.; Raleigh, N.C. 2015 United States Brewers Cup, 2nd place The coffee bar at Slingshot is tiny (150 square feet), so we needed to be incredibly mindful of our limited counter space for equipment. Knowing we wanted to offer more than one coffee on bar at a time, we decided to use a bank of Baratza Forte grinders so we didn't continually have to purge when moving between different coffees. These grinders have a small footprint, but are workhorses. They give us a consistent grind from dose to dose with very few fines. Because they have integrated scales, we don't have to have a dosing scale on the counter, keeping our bar space clean and functional for brewing and serving exceptional coffees.
