Regardless of test results, looking around the room, you realize that the learning process will never be over for these baristas, whose dedication to quality, improvement, and innovation will carry our craft forward in the years to come. Finally, with "The Swayze" held aloft and glittering in a thousand different directions, the prizewinning team was announced. It is a source of great pride to me that my team, "Girl, You Fines," took home the ball, the pride and a real sense of having raised the bar for ourselves personally, and as part of a coffee team. The final morning was bittersweet, but knowing that so many amazing baristas were going back home fully refreshed, energized and ready to disseminate their newly-acquired knowledge made leaving somehow a little easier.
