This photo: Ildi began her career working in education, teaching math and science in Binga, Zimbabwe. She eventually focused her a ention on adult education, and went to Mozambique to teach English teachers how to design workplace-specifi c language programs. This was where Ildi fi rst met Rob, a coff ee farmer in Zimbabwe whom she would later marry, and Ildi's coff ee career began. Below: Ildi stayed in Zimbabwe on her husband's coff ee farm until the national political situation became dangerous. She le with her two children and a container of coff ee, and se led in Greenville, S.C. where she started roasting her coff ee. In response to demands from the community, she opened a retail space, as well. 98 barista magazine
