Streamer Linea for Barista Pro Shop in Japan This La Marzocco Linea espresso machine was designed with barista and Tokyo café owner Hiroshi Sawada for the new Barista Pro Shop store that opened in Japan, which is a collaboration project between Espresso Parts and Hiroshi's company, Streamer. This machine has a digital camouflage print on the upper body wrap, a powder-coated orange steam boiler, and extraction lighting mounted under the operator panel. The stainless steel lower back body panel was replaced with see-through acrylic to expose the orange steam boiler. Graphic master Dave White came up with some custom designs we etched into acrylic. These designs were based on other work Dave had done for various merchandise at the Barista Pro Shop. To wrap up the design we used transparent blue long-board wheels as legs for the machine. This machine also matches a grinder we customized a while back for Hiroshi with the same digital camouflage pattern. This build required removing all the body panels, removal of the steam boiler, and disassembling all related parts. Some of the electrical components were replaced to make it compatible with Japanese power requirements, and the operator panel had some sheet-metal modification done for the mounting of the extraction lighting. Every piece of equipment is extensively tested when it comes into the shop and again before it leaves to ensure a heightened level of quality control for anything we customize. www.baristamagazine.com 77
