Stuff Leszek Loves The Latte Art Cube I Love Stuff Leszek JĊdrasik Owner, trainer, barista Black and White Coffee; Gdynia, Poland How did the creation of the Latte Art Cube come about? The Latte Art Cube comes from an idea to involve customers in the coffee-making process and for them to have fun and interact with barista. I always want to surprise my clients and customers with not only a great tasting cup of coffee but also with great latte art. The idea of the cube came to me one day when a customer asked me, "Can I choose the pattern you pour on my cappuccino myself?" Who makes the Latte Art Cube? The first Cube was made by Jacek Rojewski, the owner of Royes Engineering from PoznaĔ in Poland (www.royes.pl). This is an arti- sanal company that produces handmade accessories for baristas. They offer tampers, knockboxes, pourover stations, and can make anything you need. All of the Latte Art Cubes are hand-car ved. How does it work? It's really simple: Just roll the dice and see what fate determines. If a customer wants to roll more times, then you have to pour a more com- plicated pattern. The more complicated it is, the more fun it becomes. What do your customers think about it? Customers like it ver y much. This interaction is fun and a good way for the barista and customer to get to know each other. Also, they know that the game helps me improve my pouring skills and I can cre- ate more complicat- ed patterns. Anything else to say about it? There are new prototypes of Latte Art Cube with words, such as names of animals—for example, cat, dog, swan, lion, or even drag- on, to give you even more latte art design options.
